City of BrantfordCity of Brantford to host Registry Week event

The City of Brantford will host Registry Week: Coming Together to help provide additional opportunities and immediate access to resources for the most vulnerable citizens in Brantford and the County of Brant on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Consistent with the Brantford-Brant Housing Stability Plan, the City of Brantford is committed to continually improving the conditions that enable all members of our community to enjoy the highest level of health and well-being possible.

Anyone experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness is encouraged to attend to receive services and additional free supports such as a hot lunch, clothing, harm reduction services, haircuts, personal care, housing application support and more.

Registry Week: Coming Together is a way for the City to identify and support as many people as possible who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability in our community,” said Mary Musson, Director of Housing and Homelessness for the City of Brantford. “We then work with community agencies and partners to help those who require supports to transition to stable housing as quickly as possible.”

The event brings together service providers to facilitate connections and provide resources for those in need. Attendees will also be invited to participate in a survey that will help inform current and future homelessness services delivery.

Volunteers Needed

Be part of shaping your community by joining the Registry Week: Coming Together volunteer team. Volunteer opportunities include set-up and take-down, coordination of the registration table, support with the community meal at lunch and other duties.

Volunteers are also needed for event day participation in data collection and surveying of individuals experiencing homelessness to better understand current needs. This role will require volunteers to attend designated locations throughout the community within a supervised team to promote engagement with individuals who are not on-site at the event. Volunteers must be available to attend a mandatory orientation on Wednesday, April 19 at Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street.

Those interested in volunteering must register by Friday, April 14 at www.Brantford.ca/RegistryWeek.
