With holiday season in full swing, the City of Brantford has shared schedule changes that may affect community members from December 24, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
Brantford City Hall and Customer Service
Brantford City Hall and Customer Service will be closed from December 24 to 27 and reopen on Wednesday, December 28 at 8:30 a.m. City Hall and Customer Service will also be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023 and reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at 8:30 a.m.
Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift
Saturday, December 24

Sunday, December 25 - Brantford Transit No service

Garbage and Recycling
Regular waste collection will occur Monday, December 26 through Friday, December 30 and Monday, January 2 through Friday, January 7. No collection services will take place on Sunday, December 25 or Sunday, January 1.
The City’s Merry Mulch Program runs from January 2 to 14, 2023. Place your Christmas tree at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Please remember to remove ornaments, tinsel, tree stands and plastic bags from your tree. Christmas trees longer than 8’ must be cut in half.
Remember to recycle wisely this holiday season. You can recycle plastics (1 through 7), cardboard tubes, boxes and cartons. You cannot recycle metallic or cellophane wrapping paper, tissue paper or Styrofoam. Only wrapping paper that is 100% plain paper may be recycled.
The Landfill Site will be open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Join Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis for the Mayor’s Levee event on January 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for free skating and hot chocolate to celebrate the start of 2023!
All other facility amenities will be closed on January 1, 2023.

Brantford Lights at Glenhyrst
Residents can enjoy the annual Brantford Lights at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant until January 1, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. nightly. Donations to the Brantford Food Bank are greatly appreciated.
Harmony Square Ice Rink
The Harmony Square Ice Rink in Downtown Brantford is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Times Square in Harmony Square December 31
Enjoy this free event on December 31 from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and enjoy live music, photo booth and party favours, ice-skating (weather permitting) and fireworks show at midnight.
