Brantford woman charged with Impaired Operation

On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a call regarding a possible impaired driver who was observed in a parking lot located on Brantwood Park Road. 
A concerned citizen observed a female, who was believed to be in an intoxicated state, arrive at the parking lot by taxi and proceeded to then enter and operate a motor vehicle. The employee attempted to stop the female from driving by advising a call would be made to report the incident to the police. 
The citizen obtained the licence plate number and description of the vehicle and accused to the police.
Utilizing this information, police were able to locate the accused and vehicle at a nearby residence. Upon arrival, the accused was found in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers observed signs of intoxication.
The accused was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to provide samples of her breath as required by law. Both samples were in excess of twice the legal limit.
As a result, a 52-year-old female from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
•Impaired Operation 
•80 Plus 
Additionally, a licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
