Brantford woman charged with Assault

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a retail store located at Market Street and Icomm Drive for an assault related call for service at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022,

Prior to police arrival, the accused, attended the store and attempted to commit a theft by leaving with unpaid items. The accused was observed by a store employee who attempted to stop the accused from leaving.

At this time, a shopper who was entering the store and observed the confrontation attempted to assist the employee. During this altercation, the victim, a 38-year-old female, was allegedly bitten by the accused who then fled on foot out of the store. 

Police attended and the accused was located nearby and arrested.

As a result, a 24-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with: 

  • Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code
