Brantford to celebrate Seniors Month with free programs

To celebrate Seniors Month in June, the City of Brantford announced the return of the Healthy Aging Passport on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The passport provides older adults with a wide variety of free programs, activities, workshops and events from Monday, June 3 to Wednesday, July 31, 2024. 

Through partnerships with a number of community organizations including; Brant Skills Centre, Brantford Public Library, the Grand River Council on Aging, Modo Yoga Brant, Beckett Recreation Centre, Grand River Community Health Centre, Smak Dab Pottery and more, seniors can try fitness classes, educational workshops, art programs, and more at no cost throughout the City.

The full list of upcoming programs can be found at Brantford.ca/HealthyAgingPassport. Physical copies of the June Passport will be available for pick up as of Wednesday, May 22 at the front desk of the following locations:

  • Beckett Recreation Centre, 219 Colborne Street
  • Brantford Public Library – Main Branch, 173 Colborne St
  • Brantford Public Library – St Paul’s Branch, 441 St Paul Ave
  • City Hall, Customer Service Desk, 58 Dalhousie Street
  • Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre, 333 Erie Avenue
  • T.B. Costain – SC Johnson Community Centre, 16 Morrell Street
  • Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, 254 North Park Street (Pool Desk)
  • Woodman Park Community Centre, 491 Grey Street

The July passports will be available online at Brantford.ca/HealthyAgingPassport and at the locations listed above as of Tuesday, June 18.

Participants can also enter the Healthy Aging Passport Contest for the chance to win 1 of 7 passes to Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre and Beckett Recreation Centre, with a grand prize of a 1-year senior membership to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
