Brantford resident wins LOTTO 6/49 guaranteed $1 million prize

Local NewsBrantford resident wins LOTTO 6/49 guaranteed $1 million prize

Richard Armstrong of Brantford has that“6/49 feeling” after winning a Guaranteed $1 Million Prize in the February 5, 2022 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Richard says he has been a regular player since the lottery started. “My favourite games are LOTTO 6/49 and POKER LOTTO,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “This is my first big win!”

Richard, a newly retired machine operator, checked his tickets using the OLG App. “I saw the Big Winner screen and thought I won $1,000 at first. I thought ‘how nice’ and when I checked it again, I thought I won $10,000,” he said. “I texted a screenshot to my wife and when we took a closer look together, we finally noticed I won $1 million. I wasn’t sure it was real!”

The 62-year-old father says his mind started racing with all the possibilities this win will provide. “I plan to do some home renovations, build a new garage and invest for the future,” he smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at Euro Convenience on Charing Cross Street in Brantford.
