Sara Butts of Brantford is officially $250,000 richer after winning a top prize with Instant Diamond Dollars.

The winning ticket was purchased at Sonia’s Variety on Paris Road in Brantford.

“I was out on a walk when I stopped at the store to buy some tickets. I sat at the park to play them, and I was in total shock when I discovered I won,” shared Butts while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings. “I honestly thought I won $250 first, and I was happy with that! When I took a closer look at the ticket, I thought, ‘OMG! This can’t be real!’ I was just stunned.”

The 42-year-old, whose been playing INSTANT tickets weekly for over 20 years, said the joy that went rushing through her was indescribable.

“I instantly texted my son to tell him about the win. He was half asleep, so I don’t think he really processed what I said,” she said with a laugh. “I eventually called him back, and he was so happy.”

Butts said she plans to invest her windfall.

“I feel incredibly blessed and grateful. Winning is an amazing feeling,” she said.
