30-year-old woman facing Assault charges

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a call for service regarding an assault in the area of Wilkes Street on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

Officers attended and located the victim, a 30-year-old man, with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was arrested a short distance away and was found to be in violation of a valid release order.

While being processed at the Brantford Police Service, the accused is reported to have kicked a police officer. 

As a result of this investigation, a 30-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Assault a Peace Officer 
  • Assault 
  • Failure To Comply with Undertaking (Police Release) 

The accused was held for bail.

Police charge Brantford woman with Operation while Impaired

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at approximately 5:15 A.M., an off-duty police officer observed a possible impaired driver travelling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway, erratically and at a low rate of speed.

On-duty officers were notified and dispatched to attend.

Speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment, and the accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were three times the legal limit.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Operation while Impaired
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration

Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.

Brantford man facing Robbery, Assault and and Weapons charges

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to an Icomm Drive parking lot after receiving a report of a robbery at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022.

Investigation revealed that the victim was returning to his parked motor vehicle when he allegedly observed the accused rummaging through his belongings.

It was reported that a confrontation occurred, which escalated with the accused attempting to stab the victim. The victim was able to gain control of the situation and call 911 for assistance.

Officers attended and the accused was arrested. 

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not seek medical attention. 

Investigation revealed that the accused was bound by a valid probation order. 

As a result, a 41-year-old male from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Attempt Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Breach of Probation

The accused was held for bail.

35-year-old woman facing one count of Theft under $5,000

On Friday October 28, 2022, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a call to advise of a theft that had occurred at a convenience store located at Colborne Street and Peel Street.

A report was received to indicate that a woman allegedly had her wallet stolen by another woman who then left on foot. 

Through investigation officers located the accused nearby. The accused was found to be in possession of the wallet, which was returned to the rightful owner.

As a result, a 35-year-old female from Brantford, stands charged with one count of Theft Under $5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code.
