Police charge Brantford man with two counts of Mischief
officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a mischief related call at a Dalhousie Street location on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
A report was received to advise that a man was located within a secure building after allegedly breaking a window to gain entry.
Investigation revealed that the accused was also wanted by police for a similar incident that occurred on Sunday, July 1, 2023. Where, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the accused is alleged to have damaged a door at a Wellington Street location.
The accused was found to be in violation of valid probation orders.
As a result, a 36-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Mischief x 2
- Breach probation x 2
Brantford man facing three counts of Uttering Threats
Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a disturbance at a Gilkison Street location at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Upon attending the scene, officers were confronted and threatened by a man. The accused resisted arrest and failed to comply with officer’s demands.
During the incident, the Brantford Police Service deployed use of force (Anti-Riot Weapon Enfield – ARWEN), in an effort to apprehend the accused, and have notified the province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As such, Brantford Police Service will be unable to provide further information or comment related to the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following and was held for bail:
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 3
- Resist Arrest
Brantford Police charge Ohsweken man with Operation while Impaired
On Saturday, January 7, 2023, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers of the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Erie Avenue and Cayuga Street after receiving a call from a concerned citizen to report a possible impaired driver.
A caller advised that a man was seen passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle in the intersection of Erie Avenue and Cayuga Street. The citizen knocked on the window and successfully awakened the driver, who then fled the scene.
Officers attended and located the vehicle and driver at a drive-thru restaurant near Icomm Drive and Clarence Street when a traffic stop was conducted.
Speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment.
The accused was subsequently arrested and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. The accused refused to comply with the demand.
Investigation revealed that the accused was in violation of a valid undertaking.
As a result, a 32-year-old man from Ohsweken stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Operation While Impaired
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
