On Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting a man with a firearm at an apartment complex located at Colborne Street East near Echo Villa Avenue. 
Officers attended the location and with the assistance of the Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Unit, a thorough search of the area was conducted.
Officers determined the report to be unfounded and the area was cleared by police at approximately 5:20 p.m.
The Brantford Police Service would like to thank residents who were in the area during the time of this incident for their patience and cooperation as officers worked to ensure their safety.
