Brantford Police charge man with second degree murder

Officers with the Brantford Police Service have arrested a 27-year-old man from Brantford after an early morning fatal stabbing. 

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of a man who had been stabbed in the area of Colborne Street and Clarence Street at approximately 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Officers arrived to find members of Brantford Fire and Brant-Brantford Paramedics providing assistance to the male victim. The victim was transported to hospital. Despite lifesaving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation revealed that the suspect stabbed the victim and fled on foot. The suspect was located by police nearby and arrested at 10:30 a.m. 

As a result, a 27-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with the following:

Second Degree Murder

Failure to Comply with Probation x 2.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
