Brantford Police charge man with Possession of a Controlled Substance

Patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a man and a woman in the process of using illicit drugs in the area of Dalhousie Street and Market Square at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Officers interrupted this process. The male was in possession of suspected fentanyl and a pipe with suspected crystal methamphetamine. The accused was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. 

Further investigation determined that the accused is in violation of a valid release order.

As a result, a 45-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl/crystal methamphetamine), contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act 
  • Breach of release order, contrary to the Criminal Code
