Brantford man wins over $80,000 playing Lotto 649

Local NewsBrantford man wins over $80,000 playing Lotto 649

David Frame from Brantford won a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $81,071.80 in the August 30, 2023 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Frame, 55, said he’s been playing the lottery since he was of age to play, and this is his first big win. Frame went on to explain that he has a unique way of choosing his own numbers.

“I have a jar filled with numbers and pull from those, which I use for my numbers,” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“My wife was in Vegas and the moon was blue and knew it was a special day,” he said. “At first, I thought I won $67, and was happy about that! Then I realized, I forgot about the bonus number – and that’s when I realized I won big!”

The father of one said he was in total disbelief. “I was shocked! I told my daughter and wife immediately. My wife was in shock from Vegas!”

Frame will complete some home renovations and purchase braces for his daughter with his windfall.

The winning ticket was purchased at Linden Convenience on Linden Avenue in Brantford.
