Brantford man facing two counts of attempted Theft

Brantford Police ServiceBrantford man facing two counts of attempted Theft

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched regarding an attempted motor vehicle theft at a Walnut Street residence at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

A call was received to advise that the accused was observed allegedly attempting to steal two vehicles when a citizen confronted and stopped the accused. The citizen restrained the accused man until police arrived and placed him under arrest. 

Speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of impairment and contacted emergency medical services to transport the accused to hospital for assessment. 

Information was received to indicate the accused was in violation of a valid probation order. 

As a result of this investigation, a 27-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Theft (attempt) x 2
  • Breach of Probation
