Brantford man facing six charges after assaulting police

Brantford Police ServiceBrantford man facing six charges after assaulting police

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the area of Cayuga Street and Mohawk Street at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2023.

Witnesses reported that the accused allegedly created a dangerous disruption with traffic in the area.

Officers attended and located the accused. During the arrest, the accused initially resisted, and allegedly assaulted arresting officers. 

Information received indicated the accused was in violation of a valid Probation Order at the time of the incident.

As a result, a 31-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault a Peace Officer X3   
  • Resist Arrest
  • Obstruct Peace Officer  
  • Probation Order Non-Compliance   

The accused was held for bail.
