Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of an assault that had occurred at a West Street location at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., a 57-year-old woman observed an unknown man sleeping outdoors at a West Street location.
The woman was concerned that the man may be in need of medical attention.
The victim approached the accused. After the man awoke, he became agitated, and physically assaulted the victim who sustained minor physical injuries.
The victim fled the scene and contacted police.
Officers attended the scene, located the accused and, as a result, a 57-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code.
