Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a Darling Street park after receiving a report of an assault involving two people at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

A concerned citizen reported that they observed a male hitting a female with a stick. 

Officers attended and located the accused man, who was subsequently arrested.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, a 54-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Assault 
  • Assault with a Weapon
