Brantford man charged with Operation while Impaired

On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend the area of Fordview Court, after receiving a report that a possible impaired driver had nearly struck another vehicle before crashing into a gate. 

Police arrived on scene and located a man in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers observed signs of impairment. Drug paraphernalia was observed in clear view by officers.

The suspect was arrested for impaired operation. 

The accused was transported in order for a drug evaluation to be conducted. It was the drug evaluator’s opinion that the accused was impaired by drug. 

As a result, 34-year-old male resident of Brantford, stands charged Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, contrary the Criminal Code.

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.
