Brant Youth Volleyball Club continues winning ways

Two teams from the Brant Youth Volleyball Club (BYVC) continued to dominate on the court in two separate tournaments on Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14, 2024.

The U-15 Vortex team captured gold at their tournament in Tillsonburg, going a perfect 5-0 on their way to championship gold

In pool play, the Vortex defeated the Hamilton Smash Raiders Rockets in straight sets, 25-21, 25-8 and the Norfolk Chaos Crush 25-18, 25-22.

They opened the playoffs with a tightly contested three-set match over the Cambridge Scorpions Aces, winning 25-12, 20-25, 15-12 and followed that with a 25-20, 25-11 win over the Waterloo Tigers. 

In the finals, they defeated Toronto West Raptors 25-13, 25-16 to claim the gold.

In Georgetown, the 6v6 Rampage, went 4-1 to claim the silver medal.  

In pool play, the defeated Hamilton MVC Rockies 25-9, 25-22 and the Halton Hurricanes 25-10, 25-22 to claim first place in their pool.

The Rampage opened the playoffs with a three-set victory, 23-25, 25-12, 15-7 victory over the Niagara Rapids. 

They continued their winning ways in the semifinal, winning 25-10, 22-25, 15-13 to secure a spot in the final where they were overpowered by Oakville EVP Merrigan in identical 12-25, 12-25 scores.
