One person has been arrested and is facing shoplifting charges after an officer recognized the suspect while at a call for a well-being check.

Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report for a shoplifting theft at a business on Brant County Road 18 on Tuesday June 6, 2023.

An officer attended and was provided details of the suspect.

On Wednesday June 7, 2023, the same officer responded to a well-being check at a commercial property on Old Onondaga Road West in the County of Brant. While at the scene, the officer recognized the suspect from the theft occurrence and one person was arrested.

James Bradley SHILLINGTON, 38-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offence:

·        Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
