Norwich resident facing Impaired Driving charges
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 403 Eastbound near Jerseyville Road in the County of Brant at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Police charged Justin Timothy SIKMA 22-years-old, of Norwich, Ontario with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80,
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Brantford on September 4, 2026.
28-year-old facing multiple charges following traffic stop
A Brant County OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 54 in the County of Brant at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Through investigation, it was determined that the driver had no vehicle insurance and was using licence plates not authorized for the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old driver from Brantford has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates
The OPP is reminding all motorists that anyone operating a motor vehicle on a highway must be properly insured. Drivers are also cautioned that using licence plates not authorized for a vehicle is an arrestable offence under the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 25, 2026.
Brant OPP charge Hamilton man with Impaired Driving
On the evening of July 27, 2026, at 10:00 p.m., Brant County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Governors Road East in the County of Brant.
As a result of the investigation, it was discovered that the driver was suspended from driving and impaired by alcohol.
Police arrested and charged 35-year-old, Nicholas Lameront from Hamilton, with the following Criminal Code offence of Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on September 3, 2026.
