58-year-old Brant resident facing two counts of Assault

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.

Brant County OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the County of Brant at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026

As a result of the investigation, a 58-year-old individual from Brant County was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

·        Assault – Spousal

·        Assault – Cause Bodily Harm

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date.

OPP charge 18-year-old after single vehicle collision

A driver is facing impaired charges after police were called to a single motor vehicle collision.

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Brant County OPP were called to Grandville Circle in the town of Paris to investigate a single motor vehicle collision in the County of Brant.

The police investigation revealed there were no injuries, however the 18-year-old driver, Jacob Michael SMITH of Woodstock was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Brantford on April 10, 2026.
