Brant OPPBrant County OPP charge Windsor man with Impaired Driving

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an erratic driver, possibly impaired, travelling along Highway 403 at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Through investigation, officers determined that the driver had been involved in a collision shortly before police located the vehicle. Upon interacting with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. The individual was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Nyong James, a 30-year-old male, from Windsor, has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to stop after an accident
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to move to the right for an emergency vehicle

The accused’s vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. They are scheduled to appear at the Brantford Court of Justice on May 23, 2025.
