Police are searching for a 42-year-old Brantford man wanted in connection with a stabbing that sent one person to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday at approximately 2:40 p.m., officers attended a lodging home on Dalhousie Street near Brock Street for reports of an injured male who had been assaulted at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, July

Investigators say a verbal dispute between the male and the suspect occurred before the stabbing. The suspect fled prior to police arriving on scene.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Dameon Hunter of Brantford has been identified as the suspect involved in the stabbing. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hunter, who is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply with probation
