Members of the Brantford Police Service are actively seeking the driver of an ATV who collided with a police cruiser and fled on foot.
 
An officer with the Brantford Police Service who was on patrol in the area of Market Street South and Erie Avenue observed an ATV and two dirt bikes travelling in a dangerous manner at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024.
 
The officer attempted to stop the vehicles. The dirt bikes fled the scene. The ATV driver collided his vehicle with the police cruiser in the roadway near Erie Avenue and Clarence Street.   
 
The driver of the ATV then left his vehicle, fleeing the area on foot. The suspect fled southbound behind the forested area at Clarence Street and Erie Avenue.
 
The police cruiser sustained moderate damage and the police officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
 
Area roads were closed briefly to conduct the investigation. The suspect remains outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing.
