A 48-year-old man is facing multiple charges after waving a handgun during a road rage incident.

officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched after receiving a report of a road rage incident involving a handgun that occurred in the area of King George Road and Norman Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The incident occurred on King George Road, near Powerline Road, where the accused is reported to have been tailgating the victim. The accused then passed the victim’s vehicle when he uttered a threat and waved a handgun at the driver.

Officers located the accused within his vehicle at a location on Grand River Avenue, where he was arrested.

Officers observed a handgun, an open container of cannabis, and an open alcoholic beverage in clear view in the center console of the vehicle.

As a result, a 48-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following:

  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Intimidation-use violence, Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis in open original packaging, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act; and
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor License Control Act
