Township of Blandford-Blenheim Council received its 2025 report on council remuneration and expenses as information during its regular meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Under the Municipal Act, the report is required to be submitted to council on or before March 31 each year and it discloses the total salaries, benefits, and other expenditures made by municipal councillors and board members. 

“It’s a provincial requirement every year,” said Denise Krug, Township treasurer. “It supports our principle of transparency, accountability and responsible governance outlined in our strategic plan.”

In total, the five council members received $100,488.71 in salary, and $5,972.34 in benefits. The total cost for conventions and seminars came to $7,875.87. The final total reported was $114,336.92.

The report states that Mayor Mark Peterson received a total of $31,819.59 including $27,303.59 in salary, $1,948.77 in benefits and $2,567.23 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Tina Young received $22,181.24 including: $18,296.28 in salary, $1,237.11 in benefits and $2,647.85 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Bruce Banbury received $21,013.85 including $18,296.28 in salary, $356.78 in benefits and $2,360.79 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Daryl Barnes received $19,788.86 including $18,296.28 in salary, $1,192.58 in benefits and $300 for conventions and seminars. 

And finally, Councillor Nancy Demarest received a total of $19,533.39 including $18,296.28 in salary, $1,237.11 in benefits, with no expenses reported for conventions and seminars.
