Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers has launched an urgent new campaign titled “Stop Fentanyl. Save Lives.”, running until December 31, 2026, in response to the devastating impact fentanyl continues to have on our communities.
As of July 30, 2026, Grand Erie Public Health has issued three community drug alerts in response to significant increases in suspected drug poisonings and overdose deaths across the region. The first alert was issued in January following seven suspected drug poisonings during the first four days of the year. A second alert was issued in February after seven suspected non-fatal overdoses occurred in the Brantford area over one week. In June, Grand Erie Public Health issued a regional drug alert after four suspected drug-related deaths were reported within a seven-day period and later extended the alert as the number of suspected deaths increased to seven. These alerts highlight the continued presence of a highly toxic and unpredictable unregulated drug supply and the ongoing need for public awareness, harm reduction, and access to treatment and support services.
Crime Stoppers is offering cash rewards from $500 to $1,000 for anonymous tips that lead to:
- The arrest of fentanyl traffickers in Brantford, the County of Brant, and Six Nations of the Grand River —eligible for a $500-$1,000 reward
- The significant seizure of fentanyl within the region — eligible for rewards ranging from $500 to $1,000
