Members of the Brant County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an investigation into an alleged home renovation fraud in the County of Brant.
On July 28, 2026, Arashdeep SINGH, 23, of the City of Vaughan, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Fraud Over $5,000
The investigation began after Brant County OPP responded to a complaint in Paris, Ontario, regarding home repairs and renovations that had been paid for but were allegedly never completed.
Investigators learned that a construction company, operating as EcoGuard Contractors, had attended the homeowner’s residence unsolicited and offered home repair and renovation services. The complainant reported paying for the work; however, the repairs were not completed as agreed.
Following an investigation by the Brant County OPP, a charge of fraud over $5,000 was laid.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on October 23, 2026.
