Brantford Police have arrested and charged an individual following a disturbance that escalated to the brandishing of a weapon.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance between two individuals in the area of Oxford Street and King George Road at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

During the dispute, the suspect was reported to have produced a weapon and then fled in a motor vehicle.

Officers quickly located the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a high risk traffic stop in the area of St Paul Ave and Brant Ave. The individual was taken into custody at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code.
