Brantford Police Service received a call from Brantford Collegiate Institute following a threatening phone call they received involving a firearm at 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Due to the nature of the call and, out of an abundance of caution regarding the threats made at Brantford Collegiate Institute, the school was placed into a lockdown procedure while police were dispatched.

Multiple officers arrived on scene quickly and cleared the entire building with the assistance of some members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

At 10:44 AM, police determined there was no active threat to BCI, the lockdown was lifted and school resumed as normal.
