Brantford police charged a woman in connection with a fire at a home in Brantford on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a home on Darling Street near Drummond Street at around 4:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17.

Three young men inside were able to escape and call 911. Investigators determined that the fire had started in the basement.

After identifying the suspect, detectives issued an arrest warrant.

At approximately 7:40 a.m. on November 22, officers received a call that someone was trying to start a fire in a backyard firepit at a home on Erie Street.

Police soon arrived and arrested a 33-year-old Brantford woman, and charged her with offences including: Arson with a disregard for human life, Arson in damage to property, and for Breaking and Entering a place to commit an indictable offence.

The woman was held for a bail hearing.
