Brant OPPBrant OPP charge two individuals after traffic stop

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment have charged two individuals following a traffic stop in Brant County.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Cockshutt Road North at approximately 4:24 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025. Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under licence suspension and further to that had no current insurance coverage on the vehicle.

As a result, a 30-year-old male from Brantford has been charged with:

  • Drive while under suspension
  • Fail to surrender vehicle permit

While the owner of the vehicle, a 26-year-old female from Brantford was charged with: 

  • Owner permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance.

The OPP reminds all motorists of the importance of ensuring anyone operating a motor vehicle on a highway is licensed and the vehicle is insured.
