Arthur Street home under construction a total loss

Brantford Police ServiceArthur Street home under construction a total loss

An early morning fire at a home under construction at the corner of Alfred and Arthur streets in Brantford appears to have resulted in the total loss of the home.

Deputy Fire Chief Dwayne Armstrong told CHCH News the call came in at 1:22 a.m. and the structure was “fully involved.” but firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and there was no damage to neighbouring properties. Many photos and videos of the fire were posted to social media.

There were no injuries reported as the home was under construction. However, for safety, it was necessary for a neighbouring home to be evacuated, said Brantford Police.

The cause is still under investigation.
