City of BrantfordCity to host inaugural Pickleball Friendship tournament

City of Brantford will be hosting the inaugural Pickleball Friendship Tournament on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The doubles tournament, which will take place at Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, is open to players ages 13 and up and welcomes participants of all skill levels.

“Pickleball has quickly become one of Brantford’s most beloved sports and we’re proud to support its growth,” said Joaquin Barrientos, Manager of Aquatics and Fitness for the City of Brantford. “The Pickleball Friendship Tournament is a great opportunity for players of all levels to come together, enjoy some friendly competition, and celebrate the spirit of the game.”

Registration is now open, with a fee of $56.60 per person, covering both days of competition. Spots are limited and registration is required at www.Brantford.ca/ACTIVEnet.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 31 at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, followed by round robin play from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The action continues Sunday, June 1 with the remaining round robin matches, playoffs, a skills competition final and an award ceremony to close the weekend tournament.
