Man and woman facing Assault charges after confrontation

Brantford Police ServiceMan and woman facing Assault charges after confrontation

Officers with the Brantford Police were dispatched to attend an assault related call for service at a location near Icomm Drive and Market Street South at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

Information was received that two females had been approached by a man and woman who accused them of stealing their belongings. The victims and the accused were previously unknown to each other.

A verbal dispute occurred. The dispute escalated when one of the accused is alleged to have hit one of the victims. The other accused is alleged to have hit the victim’s vehicle with a baseball bat.

One of the victims received minor physical injuries as a result of the incident.

Officers attended and arrested both of the accused.

As a result, a 32-year-old female resident of Brantford stands charged with Assault, contrary to the Criminal Code, and a 44-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
