Brantford Police Service Park Patrollers were in the area of Brant’s Crossing River Front Park when they observed a man consuming alcohol on the walking path on Monday, August 7, 2023,

The accused failed to stop for the park patrollers, attempting to leave the area, before assaulting the peace officer and damaging the patrol motorcycle.   

The peace officer received minor physical injuries.

As a result, a 43-year-old male, resident of Brantford, was arrested by BPS officers and stands charged with the following offences:

  • Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Mischief Under $5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Consuming Liquor in Unauthorized Place, contrary to the Liquor License Control Act
