Brantford Police Service35-year-old man charged with disturbance
On Thursday, November 30, 2021, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a weapon-related call in the area of Market Street near Colborne Street.
Reports were received advising that a male was observed walking down the sidewalk with what appeared to be an assault style firearm over his shoulder.   
Officers attended and quickly located the accused. Due to the concern for public safety, the accused was taken into custody on scene without incident. It was later determined that the weapon was not utilized in an offensive manner and was found to be a pellet / BB gun.
Information was received to indicate that the accused was in violation of two valid probation orders.
Search incident to arrest, located a small amount of a substance appearing to be crystal methamphetamine on his person. 
As a result, a 35-year-old male from Brantford (No Fixed Address), stands charged with the following: 
  • Breach of Probation x 2 contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
