Brantford Police Service35-year-old man charged with Attempted Murder after serious assault

After continued investigation into the assault of a 68-year-old man at a Market Street residence on December 4, 2022, police have arrested and charged a 35-year-old man from Brantford with Attempted Murder.
 
The accused was arrested by BPS Monday afternoon in relation to a separate incident in which he is alleged to have assaulted a man at a Morton Street residence on the weekend.
 
Members of the Brantford Police Service responded to an assault related call for service at a Morton Street residence at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
 
Upon arrival, a 25-year-old male victim was located within the residence and was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
As a result of both incidents, the accused stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Forcible Confinement
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Attempt to Commit Murder

 
The accused was held for bail. Due to a publication ban, the name of the accused will not be released.
