24-year-old Brantford resident facing Weapons charges

Brantford Police Service24-year-old Brantford resident facing Weapons charges

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a location on Chatham Street in regard to an offensive weapons call at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

It was reported that a man attended the residence and brandished a large machete. Further information indicated a physical altercation occurred between the accused and a male victim. The accused then left the location in a vehicle.

No physical injuries were sustained as a result of the incident. 

Officers attended and located the accused nearby. The accused was arrested, and the weapon alleged to have been used in the offence was located.

Information received indicated the accused was in violation of a valid probation order.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences: 

  • Assault with a Weapon 
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 
  • Breach Probation of Probation 
  • Cause Disturbance 

The accused was held for bail.
