21-year-old facing several Weapons charges after incident

Brantford Police Service21-year-old facing several Weapons charges after incident

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a weapons related call for service at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Witnesses had reported a male in the area of Market Street and Dalhousie Street who had allegedly threatened and hit a male victim with a handgun.

Officers attended the scene where they located and arrested the suspect. Search incident to arrest, located a replica firearm in possession of the accused.

The victim and the accused were not known to each other. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the incident.

As a result, a 21-year-old male from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose 
  • Assault With a Weapon   
  • Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing Offence    
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm  

The accused was held for bail.
