20-year-old man charged with Sexual Assault and Robbery

Brantford Police Service20-year-old man charged with Sexual Assault and Robbery

Austin Hearn, 20-years-old, has been arrested and is facing a number of charges related to a sexual assault and robbery.

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a retail location on King George Road after receiving a report of a sexual assault and robbery at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Through investigation it was determined that the accused entered the retail store and locked the door prohibiting anyone from entering. He then threatened the female employee with a weapon, preventing her from leaving, before sexually assaulting her.

The accused then directed the employee to remove cash from the register and received an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. 

The accused left on foot and the victim immediately called police.

The accused was located nearby and arrested without incident. Search incident to arrest revealed a hammer in possession of the accused.

As a result of the investigation, Austin HEARN, 20, from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Sexual Assault with a weapon 
  • Robbery
  • Possession of Stolen Goods Under $5000 
  • Forcible Confinement 

The accused was held for bail.
