15-year-old arrested after weapon related threat

Brantford Police Service15-year-old arrested after weapon related threat

A 15-year-old youth was arrested by Brantford police officers after a report of a weapons related incident.

Police received information that a youth was in possession of a knife inside Pauline Johnson Collegiate & Vocational School at approximately 12:47 p.m. on Wednesday April 19th, 2023.

The youth was brandishing the weapon in a threatening manner and the school was placed into lockdown.

Officers quickly located the accused, who was taken into custody. No physical injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

As a result, a 15-year-old stands charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code.

As the accused individual is under the age of 18, additional information will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
