13-year-old facing multiple counts of Assault With a Weapon

Brantford Police Service13-year-old facing multiple counts of Assault With a Weapon

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched in regard to a weapons related call in the areas of Brant Avenue and Icomm Drive at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

Investigation revealed that, in the area of Brant Avenue and Church Street, a 13-year-old male allegedly shot a 16-year-old male victim in the back with a pellet gun.  It is reported that the accused then departed the area, where he travelled to an Icomm Drive location and allegedly shot a second victim, a 14-year-old male, with the pellet gun.

Officers attended the area, located the accused and the pellet gun. Both victims received minor physical injuries.

As a result of this incident, a 13-year-old male from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

As per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused in this incident will not be released.
