Youth arrested after incident at Paris District High School

One person is in custody following an incident at Paris District High School on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons complaint at the school at approximately 12:24 p.m. on Friday.

As per the school’s policy, a hold-and-secure was initiated.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 15-year-old with Assault With a Weapon in connection with the incident.

There were no injuries. The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)
