Brant OPPWoodstock man facing Operation while Impaired charges

One person is facing impaired driving charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to a traffic complaint early Thursday evening in the County of Brant.

Officers with the Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 403 in the County of Brant at approximately 6:57 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

The caller reported the location of the vehicle until police were able to locate it on Colborne Street West. One person was arrested and transported to Haldimand County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 43-year-old Shawn Alexander MACDONALD, from Woodstock with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs,
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Fail to Remain,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor and
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
