The upcoming summit hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University’s Hub for Community Solutions will showcase Brantford’s creative side, celebrating the community’s unique potential for innovative thinking and creative solutions.

The goals of the Summit are to celebrate creative community solutions, inspire change, create opportunities for learning, innovation, networking and knowledge sharing, and honour community leaders and changemakers.

The Summit is focused on inspiring community solutions for positive change and will include keynote speakers, presentations, and interactive workshops featuring community leaders, academics, creators, and entrepreneurs. The event aims to highlight projects and stories connected to the Summit themes of innovation, sustainability and inclusion.

Keynote speakers for the Summit will include:

  • Ellie Joseph and Jay Bailey, founders of Two Row on the Grand: “Creating community along the Grand River”
  • Christian Clauwers, photographer and EU Climate Pact Ambassador: “Using image to bridge the gap between science, education, and policy”

The Summit will also include panel discussions from City of Brantford staff involved in collaborative community initiatives related to innovative youth strategies and celebrating community inclusion.

“Since Launching the Hub for Community Solutions in 2022, we have worked with hundreds of community organizations on projects that have impacted thousands of residents,” said Christina Han, a Laurier professor and director of the Laurier Hub for Community Solutions. “The creative thinking we’ve encountered has been inspiring. We hope the Summit for Creative Community Solutions will highlight the many ways that innovative solutions to community challenges can foster a more vibrant and inclusive Brantford.”
