Wayne Gretzky Parkway northbound reduced to one lane

City of BrantfordWayne Gretzky Parkway northbound reduced to one lane

As a result of the Phase 1 expansion of the Lynden Park Mall, a northbound single lane road closure on Wayne Gretzky Parkway will be in place starting Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The closure will be from the Highway 403 interchange to the intersection of Edmondson Street and Wayne Gretzky Parkway (which is the main entrance to the Lynden Park Mall). The work is expected to be completed on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. During this time, the lane closure will be removed during the hours of non-construction including evenings and the weekend.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to reduce peak hour travel through the area when possible, or seek alternative travel routes to minimize delays. Pedestrian access at the Edmondson intersection will be maintained throughout the duration of the construction project as will access for emergency services.

The closure is to allow for construction of a new right in access to the mall site, installed from Wayne Gretzky Parkway approximately 150 metres south of the Edmondson Street/Wayne Gretzky Parkway intersection. This access is required to support the anticipated increase in traffic flow as a result of the new retail warehouse to be located on the site.
