CrimeTwo people charged after OPP seize over $80K in drugs, property

Two people are facing drug and weapon related charges after the Ontario Provincial Police seized over $80,000 in drugs and property.

Officers began the investigation in November, dubbed project “Trios,” which led to one arrest on Dec. 13.

As a result of the initial arrest, police seized fentanyl, cocaine, two phones, and around $5,200 in cash.

The following day, Haldimand and Norfolk County OPP executed a search warrant at a property on Pine St. in Dunnville, where another person was arrested.

Upon arrival, officers found a fully loaded firearm, ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, along with stolen credit cards.

Dario Dilber, 32, from Stoney Creek is facing 14 drug, weapon, and trafficking related charges.

Nichole-Lynn McCauley, a 29-year-old from Brant County is facing seven charges including careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police say they continue to investigate and anticipate further charges.

Anyone with information to help with the case is asked to contact the Haldimand County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
