Two drivers are facing impaired driving charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to traffic complaints in the County of Brant over the weekend.

On February 26, 2023, at approximately 7:26 p.m., officers with the Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 403 in the County of Brant. Police located the vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Haldimand County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 40-year-old Maciej Stanislaw STASZKIEWICZ, from Tillsonburg with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

On February 23, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers with the Brant County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Oakland Road in the County of Brant. Prior to police arrival, the involved vehicle struck a second vehicle head-on. There were no reported injuries. One person was arrested and transported to Brant County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 24-year-old Ben POLAWSKI, from Waterloo with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
